A CALL TO ACTION by SEN. RUSSELL PEARCE
A call to action:
Enough is enough, Citizen's Initiative
By Sen. Russell Pearce, R-18, Mesa
I wanted to give you an update on all of the recent news concerning illegal immigration. Our efforts to enforce our laws, secure our border, and go after illegal employers has gotten much tougher to do as ICE, under the direction of Sec. Napolitano and the Obama administration, has decided to pull back and throw up additional obstacles to enforcement. We were also blocked in our own State Legislature when we attempted to pass legislation creating trespass laws for illegal aliens and prohibiting sanctuary city policies in Arizona.
Well enough is enough! Once again, it is time to allow the good citizens of this state to make it clear to Washington D.C., the local politicians and Police Chiefs that we are not going to take it any more. We will no longer allow our political leaders to handcuff our law enforcement officers and allow the Rule of Law to be ignored, and our citizens killed, maimed, or raped any more.
As we have in the past, when the politicians have lacked the courage to do the right thing, we are now looking at putting together a citizen’s initiative effort that will create a state trespass law and that will eliminate sanctuary city policies here in Arizona. I have meetings scheduled with the Sheriff Joe, Sheriff Babeu, County Attorney Thomas, Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, Border Patrol Association, Maricopa County Deputies Association, Pachyderms and the Maricopa County Republican Party and we will start to work on the initial paperwork and see if we can get enough support to put it on the ballot.
I believe we will be successful. Our legislative efforts had the support of the Arizona State Republican Party and the Maricopa County Republican Party (both of which passed Resolutions in support), the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (P.L.E.A.), Border Patrol Officers, Maricopa County Deputies Association, Arizona FOP, Arizona Highway Patrol Association, Sheriff Arpaio, County Attorney Andrew Thomas, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, Pachyderm Coalition, Arizona Republican Assembly, Minutemen Civil Defense Corporation, American Citizens United, many other patriotic groups and, according to the polls, over 75% of Arizona’s citizens.
As always, I will keep you apprised of our progress and you can look forward to a call to action from me in the near future. In the meantime, continue to stand strong.
Let’s Roll!

Sotomayor Approved by Senate Committee
Politico has reported today that the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court has been approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee, the full Senate is expected to confirm her next week. If confirmed, Sotomayor would replace Justice David Souter, one of the more liberal members of the court.
The 13-6 committee vote was mostly along party lines with all Democrat's on the committee voting in favor and all Republicans, except South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, opposed.
Graham said, "This is the first Latina women in the history of the United States to be selected for the Supreme Court. Now that is a big deal." Graham explained his vote by saying he would not have chosen her, "but I understand why President Obama did. I gladly give her my vote because I think she meets the qualifications test that was used in Scalia and Ginsburg."
Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee, said, "Based on her record as a judge and her statements, I am not able to support her nomination. In speech after speech, year after year, Judge Sotomayor set forth a fully formed judicial philosophy that conflicts with American philosophy of blind justice to the law."
Arizona Senator Jon Kyl has announced that he will not support Sotomayor's nomination to the Supreme Court.
Sotomayor has said that a "wise Latina" could render a better judgement then a white male.
COMMENTARY:
The American Conservative Republican (ACR), does not understand how an individual's gender or ancestry renders a better judgement then any other's gender or ancestry. We feel that, the belief that gender or ancestry has any connection with human wisdom, is evidence of ignorance. We also believe that too much emphasize is placed on race, gender or ancestry in American society, especially by those who consider themselves progressive. Ending racism and sexism will not be archived by pre-judging people by their race, gender or ancestry. We believe that selecting any individual for any position because of their race, gender or ancestry is, or should be, considered un-American.
We hold that the truth is self-evident, all are created equal.

Obama's Sleight of Hand
Obama's Sleight of Hand
by Helaine Chersonsky
Why is President Obama so quick to pass a healthcare bill he hasn't read. Could the prospect of controlling one-sixth or 17 percent of the American economy have unduly influenced him to put his political capital on the line? Obama admitted in his most recent press conference on healthcare that he has not read the house or senate bill working its way through Congress. Why hasn't he read something that is seemingly so important to him? Could he be lying about not reading the healthcare bills? Or does he just not want the media and voters to really understand what is in the oft-promoted bill? Matters of keeping your own healthcare policy that you may be satisfied are discussed on page 16. What seems to be happening in the healthcare bill is that maybe you can keep your healthcare that you currently have, but you may not change it in any way and if you change any part of your employment (being mindful of the constant fluidity of the job market), your only option is to opt into government care. Hopefully, if you are elderly or really sick or in need of surgery you won't be advised to "just take a pain pill" and get "hospice or end of life counseling" both options that Obama wants to make available because to him end of life issues are just too expensive.

Congressman to Offer Amendment to De-Fund Planned Parenthood
Congressman to Offer Amendment to De-Fund Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz
by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
July 17, 2009
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The most recent annual report shows Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business, received $350 million in taxpayer dollars from state, local and federal governments. Congressman Mike Pence says that's too much money and he is floating an amendment to reduce the flow.
Pence, an Indiana Republican, will offer an amendment next week to the appropriations bill that funds the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The amendment would stop HHS’ Family Planning funding (Title X) from going to Planned Parenthood.
"Planned Parenthood is the largest recipient of family planning money and is also the largest abortion provider in America—this should not be," Pence's office told LifeNews.com on Friday. "Although Title X cannot be used to directly pay for abortions, government financial assistance is a vital tool in offsetting operational costs, therefore freeing up money to provide more abortions."
The Pence amendment says “None of the funds made available under this Act shall be available to Planned Parenthood for any purpose under Title X of the Public Health Services Act.”
The amendment does not cut any funding from the family planning program but ensures none of the money goes to the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
While the majority of Americans who are pro-life likely support such an amendment, members of the House of Representatives may not get an opportunity to vote on it.
Pence will offer the amendment next week in the House Rules Committee, which has already repeatedly voted to prevent pro-life amendments stopping the direct taxpayer funding of abortions that President Barack Obama wanted in the District of Columbia and overseas.
Yesterday, Democratic leaders manipulated a vote on rules that prevented consideration of an amendment to stop tax-funded abortions in the nation's capital.
Pence is asking for members of the committee to approve a rule for debate on the appropriations bill that allows a vote on his amendment.
"We encourage you to get the word out to all pro-life Americans to let them know that this important amendment will be filed," his office told LifeNews.com. "The committee will have the power to allow or block a simple up-or-down vote on the Pence Amendment on the House floor."
Looking at its most recent report, the total government grants and contracts received by PPFA affiliates from government sources increased from $337 million to $350 million in fiscal year 2007-2008.
At the same time, abortions increased to 305,310 abortions up from 289,750 in 2006. Looking at Planned Parenthood data from 1997 to the present, the increase in government funding corresponds with an increase in the number of abortions. (See image)
In 1997, Planned Parenthood did about 160,000 abortions and received approximately $160 million in total taxpayer funding from various levels of government. Both the number of abortions and the amount of money received from government, supposedly for family planning to reduce abortions, has double since then.

MISSING SOLDIER CAPTURED BY TALIBAN
July 19, 2009
A soldier from Idaho who disappeared from his base in Afghanistan has been captured, the Pentagon confirmed Sunday, a day after he was seen in a Taliban video posted online.
The Defense Department released the name of Pfc. Bowe (pronounced BOW) R. Bergdahl, 23, who was serving with an Alaska-based infantry regiment. The private was last seen walking away from his base near the border with Pakistan in an area known to be a Taliban stronghold.
Even before his name became public, two U.S. defense officials confirmed to The Associated Press that the man in that 28-minute video was the captured soldier. The video, in which Bergdahl said he was “scared I won’t be able to go home,” provided the first public glimpse of the missing American.
The Pentagon statement said Bergdahl’s whereabouts became unknown on July 1 and his status was changed July 3 to missing-captured.
Bob Bergdahl, the soldier’s father, told The Associated Press Saturday that the family was requesting media respect their privacy.
“We hope and pray for our son’s safe return to his comrades and then to our family, and we appreciate all the support and expressions of sympathy shown to us by our family members, our friends and others across the nation,” Bob Bergdahl said in a statement issued through the Department of Defense. “Thank you, and please continue to keep Bowe in your thoughts and prayers.”
On the video, which was posted on a Web site pointed out by the Taliban, Bergdahl says he’s from Hailey, Idaho, a town of about 7,000 people that lies 160 miles east of Boise. The Pentagon identified his hometown as Ketchum, which is about half the size of Hailey and about 12 miles north. His family says he grew up in Blaine County, closer to Hailey.
The Facebook page for a coffee shop in Hailey, Zaney’s River Street Coffee House, suggests many in the small town have known for some time that Bergdahl was in danger.
“Join all of us at Zaney’s holding light for Bowe Bergdahl,” says a post dated July 8.
One of the directors of the Sun Valley Ballet School in Ketchum said Bergdahl performed with the group for four or five years up to about 2008.
“He’s athletic,” Jill Brennan said. “He just had a knack for it. He’s a wonderful young man.”
In the video, Bergdahl had his head shaved and was seen with the start of a beard. He was sitting and dressed in a nondescript, gray outfit. Early in the video one captor held the soldier’s dog tag up to the camera. His name and ID number were clearly visible. He was shown eating at one point and sitting cross-legged.
He said the date was July 14 and that he was captured when he lagged behind on a patrol. It’s clear the video was made no earlier than July 14 because Bergdahl repeated an exaggerated Taliban claim about a Ukrainian helicopter that was shot down that day.
He was interviewed in English by his captors. He was asked his views on the war, which he called extremely hard; his desire to learn more about Islam; and the morale of American soldiers, which he said was low.
Asked how he was doing, the soldier said: “Well I’m scared, scared I won’t be able to go home. It is very unnerving to be a prisoner.”
He later choked up when discussing his family and his hope to marry his fiance.
“I have a very, very good family that I love back home in America. And I miss them every day when I’m gone,” he said.
He was prompted by his interrogators to give a message to the American people.
“To my fellow Americans who have loved ones over here, who know what it’s like to miss them, you have the power to make our government bring them home,” he said. “Please, please bring us home so that we can be back where we belong and not over here, wasting our time and our lives and our precious life that we could be using back in our own country. Please bring us home. It is America and American people who have that power.”
A U.S. military spokeswoman in Afghanistan, Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker, said the Taliban was using their captive for propaganda.
“I’m glad to see he appears unharmed, but again, this is a Taliban propaganda video,” she said. “They are exploiting the soldier in violation of international law.”
Bergdahl is a member of 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Fort Richardson, Alaska.
On July 2, the U.S. military said an American soldier had disappeared after walking off his base in eastern Afghanistan with three Afghan counterparts and was believed to have been taken prisoner.
Details of such incidents are routinely held very tightly by the military as it works to retrieve a missing or captured soldier without giving away any information to captors.
But Afghan Police Gen. Nabi Mullakheil said the soldier went missing in eastern Paktika province near the border with Pakistan from an American base. The region is known to be Taliban-infested.
Afghans in contact with the Taliban told the AP that the soldier was held by a Taliban group led by a commander called Maulvi Sangin, who operates in the area where the American went missing. They said the fighters initially planned to smuggle the soldier across the border into Pakistan but ruled that out because of U.S. missile strikes and Pakistani bombing attacks against militant targets in the area. Instead, they decided to move him north into Taliban-controlled areas of Ghazni province.
The Afghans spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of arrest or reprisal. It was impossible to independently confirm their information.
A brigade commander for the Afghan national army in southeastern Afghanistan, Gen. Asrar Ahmad Khan, said Afghan and coalition forces have been working together for 15 days searching for the missing soldier.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, said the militants holding the soldier haven’t yet set any conditions for his release.

CORRECTION, WE GOT THIS WRONG- SOTOMAYOR, "Castrate All White Males."
UPDATE: WE GOT THIS WRONG. THIS WAS A SATIRE PIECE THAT I DIDN'T CHECK OUT. THERE IS NO RECORD OF SONIA SOTOMAYOR SAYING ANYTHING REGARDING CASTRATING ALL WHITE MALES. I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ERROR, I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THIS OUT BEFORE POSTING.
For God and country,
BOB HARAN,
AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN
President Obama said that comments by Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor in a 2004 speech in which she called for the "castration of all white males until they are no longer dominant," have been "taken out of context" by right wing ideologues.
In the speech delivered to the San Juan chapter of NOW, Sotomayor said, "I want to be perfectly clear about this next comment so that there is no mistaking my words to mean something other than what they plainly say: the time has come to end white male oppression by castrating every white male until they are no longer dominant in Western culture. That means forcible removal of their testicles. I realize the brutality of my comment, and I don't know how to say it more clearly."
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs agreed with President Obama that the statement "has been taken out of context," and added that Sotomayor "certainly did not mean" that white males should be castrated." Judge Sotomayor was simply saying that there should be room at the American table for diverse cultures, that's all. It is astounding that people are reading 'castration' into it."
President Obama told MSNBC: "Look, when Judge Sotomayor appears before the Senate committee, all this nonsense being spewed out by ideologues will be revealed for what it is."
The American Conservative Republican feels that this racist and hateful statement by Sonia Soyotmayor, should be enough to disqualify her for any judicial appointment at any level of government including that of a municipal magistrate. Would any intelligent person approve the appointment of someone who feels that all African-American males should be castrated? Sonia Soyotmayor is obviously afflicted with the disorder of judging people by their skin color and/or gender and is therefore unacceptable for the position of Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court and the president should immediately withdraw her nomination. Continued support of Soyotmayor's appointment to the Supreme Court by the president or any member of the United States Senate would be an endorsement of her racist and sexist hatred.
For God and country,
Bob Haran,
American Conservative Republican
