November 5, 2008 - Obama selects pro-abortion Rep. Rahm Emanuel as his White House Chief of Staff. Emanuel has a 0% pro-life voting record according to National Right to Life.

November 19, 2008 - Obama picks pro-abortion former Sen. Tom Daschle as his Health and Human Services Secretary. Daschle has a long pro-abortion voting record according to National Right to Life.

November 20, 2008 - Obama chooses former NARAL legal director Dawn Johnsen to serve as a member of his Department of Justice Review Team. Later, he finalizes her appointment as the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Legal Counsel in the Obama administration.

November 24, 2008 - Obama appoints Ellen Moran, the former director of the pro-abortion group Emily's List as his White House communications director. Emily's List only supported candidates who favored taxpayer funded abortions and opposed a partial-birth abortion ban.

November 24, 2008 - Obama puts former Emily's List board member Melody Barnes in place as his director of the Domestic Policy Council.

November 30, 2008 - Obama named pro-abortion Sen. Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of State. Clinton has an unblemished pro-abortion voting record and has supported making unlimited abortions an international right.

December 10, 2008 - Obama selects pro-abortion former Clinton administration official Jeanne Lambrew to become the deputy director of the White House Office of Health Reform. Planned Parenthood is "excited" about the selection.

December 10, 2008 - Obama transition team publishes memo from dozens of pro-abortion groups listing their laundry list of pro-abortions actions they want him to take.

January 6, 2009 - Obama chooses Thomas Perrelli, the lawyer who represented Terri Schiavo’s husband Michael in his efforts to kill his disabled wife, as the third highest attorney in the Justice Department.

January 22, 2009 - Releases statement restating support for Roe v. Wade decision that allowed virtually unlimited abortions and has resulted in at least 50 million abortions since 1973.

March 5, 2009 - The Obama administration shut out pro-life groups from attending a White House-sponsored health care summit. Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business, made the invitation list as did other pro-abortion groups.

March 9, 2009 - President Barack Obama signed an executive order forcing taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research.

March 10, 2009 - Obama announces the creation of a new foreign policy position to focus on women's issues. He names Melanne Verveer, an abortion advocate, to occupy the post.

March 10, 2009 - Reverses an executive order to press for more research into ways of obtaining embryonic stem cells without harming human life. The order Obama scrapped would have promoted new forms of stem cell research.

March 11, 2009 - Obama signed an executive order establishing a new agency within his administration known as the White House Council on Women and Girls. Obama's director of public liaison at the White House, Tina Tchen, an abortion advocate, becomes director of it.

March 11, 2009 - Obama administration promotes an unlimited right to abortion at a United Nations meeting.

March 11, 2009 - Obama administration officials deny negative effects of abortion at United Nation's meeting.

March 17, 2009 - President Barack Obama makes his first judicial appointment and names pro-abortion federal Judge David Hamilton to serve on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

March 26 - Announces $50 million for the UNFPA, the UN population agency that has been criticized for promoting abortion and working closely with Chinese population control officials who use forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations.

Napolitano Supports E-Verify

Napolitano Supports Longer E-Verify Extension


Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said today that she supports E-Verify and an extension beyond its current Sept. 30 expiration date. In an interview with the Gannett Washington Bureau, she extended her support for the program even though the Obama Administration hasn't taken a position on it.

"It’s all about who gets to work and making sure they’re legally present in our country. And to do that nationally E-verify becomes a key component," Napolitano said in the interview. "It certainly needs to be available, effective and as inexpensive as possible and that employer needs to use it as a tool."

As governor of Arizona, Napolitano signed a bill making it mandatory for all employers in the state to use E-Verify. NumbersUSA has a map detailing all the state laws requiring some form of mandatory E-Verify usage.

"Some of the arguments that are made about how it works or does not work don’t carry much water with me. I’ve already used it for several years. It works."

Last month's Omnibus Bill extended E-Verify beyond its March expiration date. An amendment from Sen. Jeff Sessions to extend E-Verify for five years was tabled during a floor vote.

DREAM Act Introduced in the House and Senate

As the latest move intended to flex their legislative muscle, amnesty supporters in Congress last week re-introduced the DREAM Act (also known as the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act). Authored by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) (S.729) and Congressman Howard Berman (H.R.1751), the DREAM Act grants amnesty to a broad range of individuals who meet certain minimal educational requirements and broad definitions relating to student status.

While the text of the legislation has not been officially posted, previous versions of the bill have:

granted broad-based amnesty to illegal aliens who entered the country before a certain age if they can meet minimal educational standards;

changed federal law to allow states to subsidize college tuition for illegal aliens even when that subsidy is not available to U.S. citizens and legal immigrants attending a state college; and

rendered moot any lawsuits filed by U.S. citizens against a state or colleges when state law allowed colleges to grant in-state tuition without offering the same benefit to U.S. citizens not residing in the state. (FAIR Legislative Analysis, May 2007).

Immigration reformers and political observers are waiting to see whether the text of latest DREAM Act is more or less restrictive.

The Senate bill has 7 cosponsors, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Ted Kennedy (D-MA) as well as Republican Senators Dick Lugar (R-IN) and Mel Martinez (R-FL). The House bill has 9 co-sponsors, including House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-MI), and Chair of the Immigration Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee, Zoe Lofgren (D-CA).

North Korea could Hit U.S. with Nuke Missile

A Missile Defense Wake Up Call

Barring a sudden change in weather, sometime tonight North Korea will likely launch a multistage rocket over Japan, far into the Pacific Ocean. The Kim Jong Il regime is claiming the launch is a test of their civilian satellite program, but it is widely understood that this claim is just a pretext for testing their Taepodong-2 intercontinental ballistic missile.


A 2001 National Intelligence Estimate by the U.S. Intelligence Community assessed a two-stage Taepo Dong-2 could target Alaska, Hawaii, and the western United States while a three stage missile could threaten all of North America with a nuclear warhead. And just last week the Washington Post reported that U.S. and independent intelligence experts agree that North Korea has built or is attempting to build nuclear warheads small enough to fit on its ballistic missile arsenal.

Whether a ballistic missile or a “satellite,” the North Korea launch will be in direct violation of United Nations Resolutions 1695 and 1718. The U.S. response to the North Korea launch should be swift and strong: 1) Demand that all U.N. member nations fully implement the existing sanctions of U.N. Resolutions 1695 and 1718 and request a firmer follow-on U.N. Security Council resolution that imposes stronger punitive measures as well as a deadline for compliance; 2) Urge South Korea and China to join the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) to better defend against North Korean proliferation of missile- and WMD-related technology and components; and 3) Continue U.S. and allied missile defense development and deployment.

That last item may just be the most important. According to a 2008 report by the International Crisis Group for the U.S. Army War College, North Korea has become “the greatest supplier of missiles, missile components and related technologies” in the developing world. North Korea has sold missiles to Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen. When Iran launched their long-rang Safir missile in February, they used North Korean missile components and technical support. And Pakistan’s mid-range Ghauri missile, which can carry a nuclear warhead, is actually a renamed North Korean Nodong.

President Barack Obama has been, at best, incoherent on his support for missile defense. February’s Iran Safir missile launch and this weekend’s Taepodong-2 launch should serve as a wake up call to this administration. The realities of today’s world demand a strategy to protect and defend the U.S. and its allies. The Cold War strategy of retaliation-based deterrence is insufficient. Ballistic missile defenses are therefore an essential component of a protect-and-defend strategy for the 21st century.

Simple Solution for Mexico Border Violence: Send in the Military, Tancredo Says

(CNSNews.com) – Former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) said the solution to ending the violence along the U.S.-Mexico border would require only one order from the new commander-in-chief, President Barack Obama: send in the troops.

“You can absolutely secure the border with the military,” Tancredo said in a conference call on Thursday with reporters and Roy Beck, president of the immigrant reduction advocacy group, NumbersUSA.

Tancredo said he observed a two-week operation a few years ago along the Canadian border with Idaho where 100 U.S. Marines were stationed along the 100-mile stretch of rugged wilderness, along with the use of three unmanned aerial vehicles and three radar stations. The operation was a joint effort among the Marines, the U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. Forest Service.

“I assure you that for the two weeks that that was in operation, nothing came across that northern border that we did not see,” Tancredo said. “You can secure the border.”

But, he said, the Bush administration abandoned the idea of using the military to secure the nation’s borders, an idea Tancredo said is necessary now not only to stop the flow of drugs, humans, and weapons but for the safety and security of the American people – especially if the Mexican government fails and millions of people flee north to escape the violence.

The conference call was held to respond to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s trip to Mexico and her claim that the United States is culpable for the violence along the country’s border with Mexico. Clinton largely blamed high drug consumption by Americans and American weapons smuggled south to arm drug cartels as the culprits.

“I have no doubt that there are firearms that make their way into Mexico, but the extent to which that is happening is really a debatable point,” Tancredo said. “The huge caches of arms that have been found – the AK-47s and some of the grenade launchers – have not come from the United States.”

“We’ve asked Mexico for the serial numbers, and they’ve refused to give them to us because, in fact, they are not from the United States,” Tancredo said.

“This issue of ‘It’s our fault just as much as their fault’ is a lot of crap, to tell you the truth,” he said. “It’s just another way to go after guns by this administration and also to let Mexico save some face.”

Tancredo said that in addition to securing the border, Congress needs to mandate the E-Verify legislation that requires employers to confirm the legal status of potential employees.
E-Verify “has worked better than anything we’ve ever come up with, which is why the Democrats are a little leery about continuing it,” Tancredo said.

Rather than granting a five-year extension of the program, Congress okayed a five-month extension “with the hope of using it as a hook and get some sort of leverage to get Republicans to back off of their opposition – especially in the Senate – to any sort of amnesty.”

Using the military to secure the border and extending E-Verify for five years are what’s called for, Tancredo said, to solve not only the violence of the drug cartels but the flow of illegal aliens into the United States.

“We will be doing more for immigration reform with those two things,” he said. “If you simply concentrate on securing the border and continue E-Verify, we will have a much better situation with Mexico.”

Beck said he did not think the downturn in the U.S. economy would make the immigration issue of less importance to the American people. He said the contrary may be true as Americans come to understand that the millions of jobs held by illegal aliens in this country would otherwise be available to the estimated 12 million Americans who have lost their jobs in recent months.

STACKING THE DECK AGAINST ARPAIO

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, (MCSO), has learned that the office of Congressman John Conyers, Democrat from Michigan, contacted the president of the local NAACP in an attempt to get the civil rights group to bolster the congressman's portrayal of Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his deputies as "racial profilers" during Congressional hearings, according to a press release from the MCSO.


The attempt to portray Arpaio and the MCSO as racial profilers was unsuccessful because the NAACP head had no complaints about the Sheriff or other local law enforcement involving racial profiling, therefore, representatives from the NAACP were not invited to testify at the hearings and neither was Arpaio. In fact, to stack the deck against Arpaio, only critics of Arpaio were invited to testify.


Conyers is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and recently spearheaded a federal investigation by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holding claiming MCSO deputies are routinely violating the civil rights of Hispanics in Maricopa County.


Yesterday, about forty MCSO deputies gathered in front of Phoenix City Hall to denounce accusations of racial profiling and recent comments from Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon making them seem like a racist sheriff's office of the old south of the 1950's era. They had a message for Gordon and others ignorant of police work, "Shut Up."


Arpaio said, "Conyers' phone call to the NAACP office right before these hearings convened was a blatant attempt to stack the deck against me and this office. It proves how hollow and corrupt this entire process is."



American Conservative Republican comments:


If there is any organization in this country that would be up in arms over racism and racial profiling of anyone, it would be the well respected NAACP.


The fact is that the vast majority of those demanding immigration control and enforcement of our immigration laws are not racist. It's true that some white supremacists have attempted to hitch hike on the illegal immigration issue to advance their own racist agenda, they are a tiny minority however, and they don't speak for the majority of us demanding immigration control and enforcement.


Those opposed to immigration control want to believe that we are all a bunch of ignorant, redneck, racist. But what about those of us who are of Hispanic ancestry, do they hate themselves? Or are they just good American citizens how put their country first ?


When the original Minuteman Project toke place in April 2005 in Cochise County, then Arizona Governor Napolitano and the mainstream media, called us vigilantes and Mexican hunters. The federal government assigned extra Border Patrol Agents, Napolitano sent extra DPS officers, the Mexican government secured their side of the border, and media from all over the world came down hoping to see a bunch of ignorant white guys shooting up the border and every Mexican they could find. They were disappointed to discover that the Minuteman came from all over the country and were for the most part military veterans and former law enforcement and not a bunch of Mexican hating racist.


Those opposed to any enforcement of illegal immigration, wither they be cheap politicians pandering for the growing Hispanic vote (Phil Gordon) or greedy employers profiting from cheap illegal labor (Wake Up Arizona Coalition), they weren't going to let the truth, get in the way, especially when they had no good argument against control and enforcement. With no good case to make against enforcement of our immigration laws, these selfish politicians and business people, resorted to labeling all those supporting enforcement as racist, therefore, the American Conservative Republican joins with the brave sheriff's deputies and says to all who dare to call us racist without any foundation, "SHUT UP."
